Abstrak
The Internet of Things (IoT) is an innovative technology with billions of sensors in various IoT applications. Important elements used in the IoT are sensors that collect data for desired analyses. The IoT and sensors are very important in smart cities, smart agriculture, smart education, healthcare systems, and other applications. The healthcare system uses the IoT to meet global health challenges, and the newest example is COVID-19. Demand has increased during COVID-19 for healthcare to reach patients remotely and digitally at their homes. The IoT properly monitors patients using an interconnected network to overcome the issues of healthcare services. The aim of this paper is to discuss different applications, technologies, and challenges related to the healthcare system. Different databases were searched using keywords in Google Scholar, Elsevier, PubMed, ACM, ResearchGate, Scopus, Springer, etc. This paper discusses, highlights, and identifies the applications of IoT healthcare systems to provide research directions to healthcare, academia, and researchers to overcome healthcare system challenges. Hence, the IoT can be beneficial by providing better treatments using the healthcare system efficiently. In this paper, the integration of the IoT with smart technologies not only improves computation, but will also allow the IoT to be pervasive, profitable, and available anytime and anywhere. Finally, some future directions and challenges are discussed, along with useful suggestions that can assist the IoT healthcare system during COVID-19 and in a severe pandemic.

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the interconnected framework of web-connected objects that can collect and transfer information over a remote network without requiring any human intervention. The rapid progression in the development of IoT-based devices and their expansion towards making the medical care facility financially more savvy, proactive, and customized, has given rise to the development of the "Internet of Medical Things (IoMT)" that are assumed to function proactively in all domains of the healthcare industry. Within this framework, the IoMT-based healthcare system delivers various advantages, such as quick and unfailing treatment, enhanced communication, cost minimization, etc., through the exploitation of several new technologies. For instance, machine learning has significantly helped with the exploitation of various healthcare systems; fog computing not only minimises the cost of communication but also provides low latency; blockchain delivers its users a much better way of protecting sensitive and confidential information and data they possess. In this survey, a comprehensive elaboration of the IoMT-based healthcare systems based on modern technologies was conducted. This article describes various techniques and solutions of IoMT healthcare systems in the context of emerging technologies, and the related future trends and applications for a better understanding of how IoMT can enhance the healthcare industry now and in future.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a methodology or a system that encompasses real-world things to interact and communicate with each other with the assistance of networking technologies. This article describes surveys on advances in IoT-based healthcare methods and reviews the state-of-the-art technologies in detail. Moreover, this review classifies an existing IoT-based healthcare network and represents a summary of all perspective networks. IoT healthcare protocols are analyzed in this context and provide a broad discussion on it. It also initiates a comprehensive survey on IoT healthcare applications and services. Extensive insights into IoT healthcare security, its requirements, challenges, and privacy issues are visualized in IoT surrounding healthcare. In this review, we analyze security and privacy features consisting of data protection, network architecture, Quality of Services (QoS), app development, and continuous monitoring of healthcare that are facing difficulties in many IoT-based healthcare architectures. To mitigate the security problems, an IoT-based security architectural model has been proposed in this review. Furthermore, this review discloses the market opportunity that will enhance the IoT healthcare market development. To conduct the survey, we searched through established journal and conference databases using specific keywords to find scholarly works. We applied a filtering mechanism to collect only papers that were relevant to our research works. The selected papers were then examined carefully to understand their contributions/research focus. Eventually, the paper reviews were analyzed to identify any existing research gaps and untouched areas of research and to discover possible features for sustainable IoT healthcare development.

Smart health care is an important aspect of connected living. Health care is one of the basic pillars of human need, and smart health care is projected to produce several billion dollars in revenue in the near future. There are several components of smart health care, including the Internet of Things (IoT), the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), medical sensors, artificial intelligence (AI), edge computing, cloud computing, and next-generation wireless communication technology. Many papers in the literature deal with smart health care or health care in general. Here, we present a comprehensive survey of IoT- and IoMT-based edge-intelligent smart health care, mainly focusing on journal articles published between 2014 and 2020. We survey this literature by answering several research areas on IoT and IoMT, AI, edge and cloud computing, security, and medical signals fusion. We also address current research challenges and offer some future research directions.

Nowadays, the Internet has spread to practically every country around the world and is having unprecedented effects on people's lives. The Internet of Things (IoT) is getting more popular and has a high level of interest in both practitioners and academicians in the age of wireless communication due to its diverse applications. The IoT is a technology that enables everyday things to become savvier, everyday computation towards becoming intellectual, and everyday communication to become a little more insightful. In this paper, the most common and popular IoT device capabilities, architectures, and protocols are demonstrated in brief to provide a clear overview of the IoT technology to the researchers in this area. The common IoT device capabilities including hardware (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and ESP8266) and software (operating systems, and built-in tools) platforms are described in detail. The widely used architectures that have been recently evolved and used are the three-layer architecture, SOA-based architecture, and middleware-based architecture. The popular protocols for IoT are demonstrated which include CoAP, MQTT, XMPP, AMQP, DDS, LoWPAN, BLE, and Zigbee that are frequently utilized to develop smart IoT applications. Additionally, this research provides an in-depth overview of the potential healthcare applications based on IoT technologies in the context of addressing various healthcare concerns. Finally, this paper summarizes state-of-the-art knowledge, highlights open issues and shortcomings, and provides recommendations for further studies which would be quite beneficial to anyone with a desire to work in this field and make breakthroughs to get expertise in this area.

In combination with current sociological trends, the maturing development of Internet of Things devices is projected to revolutionize healthcare. A network of body-worn sensors, each with a unique ID, can collect health data, that is, orders-of-magnitude richer than what is available today from sporadic observations in clinical/hospital environments. When databased, analyzed, and compared against information from other individuals using data analytics, Healthcare Internet of Things data enables the personalization and modernization of care with radical improvements in outcomes and reductions in cost. In this article, we survey the existing and emerging technologies that can enable this vision for the future of healthcare, particularly, in the clinical practice of healthcare. Three main technology areas underlie the development of this field: 1) sensing, where there is an increased drive for miniaturization and power efficiency; 2) communications, where the enabling factors are ubiquitous connectivity, standardized protocols, and the wide availability of cloud infrastructure; and 3) data analytics and inference, where the availability of large amounts of data and computational resources is revolutionizing algorithms for individualizing inference and actions in health management. Throughout this article, we use a case study to concretely illustrate the impact of these trends. We conclude this article with a discussion of the emerging directions, open issues, and challenges.
